We are seeking an intern to investigate the use of organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) as a tool to enable scalable separations and purifications for APIs and API intermediates. Specific Responsibilities & Desired Outcomes: - Investigate the use of organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) as a tool to perform separations and purifications on relevant APIs or API intermediates with a specific goal of developing scalable and economical processes. - Thoroughly document laboratory experiments. - Tabulate, summarize, and present results at team meetings. - Present a summary of project work to the department at the conclusion of the internship. Candidate Experience, Knowledge, and Area of Study: - The ideal candidate is pursuing a BS/BA in chemistry or a related discipline with a specific interest in pharmaceutical or organic chemistry. Required experience and skills: A minimum of two semesters of organic chemistry coursework with labs Desired attributes: - Minimum six months of laboratory-based organic synthesis experience - Familiarity and experience with NMR, HPLC, GC, and/or other related analytical techniques - Strong interest in pharmaceutical applications of organic chemistry and process engineering
